We are somewhat flexible and would be happy to work with you on fashioning a tour to meet your group's needs. To schedule your group event, please contact us at 937-548-5112. What Bear's Mill offers to groups FREE

    Everyone who comes to Bear's Mill during business hours is welcome to take a free self-guided tour. Our hours vary depending on the time of year-please see the Location page.

    The mill, grounds, and gift shop are all available for touring. We recommend allowing one hour.

    A host will be available to answer questions.

    Limitations: You must come during our regular business hours.
    Booking: A one-day advance notice would be appreciated.

What Bear's Mill offers for a flat group fee of $50:

  • If you wish to bring your group during times that are not our regularly scheduled business hours, and do not wish to offer your group the $5.00 per person experience, we still want to give you the opportunity to visit. We will open the mill to your group for a flat fee of $50.
  • The mill, grounds, and gift shop are available for touring.
  • A host will be available to answer questions.
Limitations: There is a time limitation of approximately one-hour. Usually this is adequate for touring and shopping. If your group feels they need longer, we will work with you.
Booking: We require a 30-day advance booking.
Cancellation Policy: To avoid a cancellation fee of $50, we require a 1-day cancellation notice.

What Bear's Mill offers for a $5.00 fee per person

  • The mill will be open and available according to your date and time schedule regardless of our normal business hours.
  • Each visitor will receive a one-pound bag of Bear's Mill cornmeal (freshly ground at the mill).
  • Each visitor will receive a Bear's Mill own Cornbread recipe.
  • Gourmet coffee will be available to drink while visitors tour the mill and grounds.
  • Each visitor will receive a homemade biscotti (dipping cookie) to enjoy with their coffee.
  • A costumed docent will guide your group through the mill, pointing out many sights along the way.
  • Visitors may also take a leisurely walk in the woods. There are paths that lead through the woods to the dam, which is an important part of the mill property and the touring experience.
  • A host will be available to answer questions.
  • Limitations: There must be at least 20 people scheduled.
    Booking: We require a 30 day advanced booking.
    Cancellation Policy: We require a one-week advance notice of cancellation. Anything less than one week and your Company will be billed a fee of $50.

Additional Notes: 

  • Motorcoaches may pull up right in front of the Mill for unloading and parking.
  • The Mill is wheelchair accessible on the first floor only (a person in a wheelchair would not be able to go upstairs.) There are, however many interesting things to see on the first floor, including the gift shop.
  • The Mill does not have modern restroom facilities since there is no running water (except the creek of course) but we do offer a regularly maintained port-o-john outside.
  • Please have the professional courtesy to call ahead if your group is running behind schedule.
